Bundles and groupings
The use of labeling, coding, and marking technologies is essential in order to guarantee accurate identification of pharmaceutical products throughout the supply chain and to comply with European directives (2011/62/EU). These directives require all pharmaceuticals distributed within the EU to have a serial number or unique code printed on each package, allowing the products to be tracked throughout the supply chain and traced back to their origin.
Serialization codes must be applied to the various packaging levels, including primary packages (such as vials, ampoules, and blister packs), secondary packages (such as bundles or groupings and cardboard boxes), and tertiary packages (such as pallets).
In order to accurately and properly label bundles or groupings, UBS APL Series Print & Apply equipment allows you to apply labels with serial codes at rates of up to 180 packages/minute.
Print & Apply
Real-time automatic printing and application of labels eliminates the errors caused by manual labeling and provides greater speed and accuracy, reducing operating costs in the production chain.
Thanks to their multiple application options, UBS APL Series Print & Apply systems allow for on-the-fly, high-cadence labeling of all types of secondary packaging (front, rear, side, top, corner, and adjacent-side labeling). For end-of-line labeling of pallets, we also offer the option to label pallets and half-pallets on 1, 2, or 3 sides, including stacked and/or variable height pallets.
